All of the pieces designed by Henry and Avery Royer are custom made in Avery's shop in Colorado. Avery, the daughter of highly lauded and award winning commissioned sculptor Henry Royer has taken the reigns after working side-by-side with her father for over a decade. She will continue to create pieces from the Henry Royer furniture line while she expands her own line of designs. A skilled craftswoman, her attention to detail can be seen throughout the fabrication process. From first cut to the final application of patinas and finishes, Avery’s passion shines through in each piece of furniture she creates. The standard woods she uses are ash, walnut, mahogany and maple but many others woods are available. Aniline dyes are applied to the wood to give it color, but allow the grain to show through. She only use solid woods--no lamination. The three types of metal she uses are mild steel in an antique bronze, blackened or copper finish, silicon bronze in its natural state or patinaed for a darker bronze color and a highly polished brushed stainless steel.
